We made it! (Now I’m singing “through the wilderness”, I swear my head is a karaoke machine! There aren’t many things that people can say to me that don’t trigger off a song, at least it doesn’t come with an accompanying dance or people would think I was really weird! Thank heavens for small mercies! So if ever you’re talking to me and I seem distant, I am listening, I’m just singing along in my head.)

Anyway, as I was saying, before I rudely interrupted myself! We made it through the first term of big school and it was a long one!

The boys have made some lovely friends and opened a treasure trove of new friends for Lee and I ( as in their parents!)

Harry has a girlfriend call Daisy, well he doesn’t think so, but she does and she might be small but she’s fierce! Her Mum happened to say it in passing as we were hurtling down the school alley after our children. All I knew about Daisy before was that she was the one who had given Harry the scratch on the chin! Don’t worry for him, he wears his scab with pride! Like the time he tried to get the dog to scratch his forehead so he could have a scar like Harry Potter!

Ollie is taking his phonics very seriously and you can hear him sounding words out most the time which is very cute and incredibly positive. “Can you wipe my bum please Mum? B..U..M.MM, M..U.U.MMm!”

I’m loving them being five! I had a whole realisation of firsts this morning. They’d never seen the GOONIES!!!

It’s cold and wet outside and still super early, great excuse to snuggle up on the sofa under a fluffy blanket, in front of the twinkly Christmas tree and watch it.

I thought I was being super clever with their breakfast, but might have been a touch too much sugar for Ollie who struggles to sit at the best of times!

Harry and I melted down a load of Paw Patrol chocolate Christmas treats (got to get through them somehow) and added a slosh of milk. Then I cut up some pears and strawberries and voila a chocolate fondue which is less guilt ridden as it contains a lot of fruit, balanced! Harry also tried dipping his vitamin chew in it, each to their own.

When the Goonies happened upon One Eyed Willy on his ship in skeleton form sat round the table with his crew (for those who haven’t seen it, why???) Harry turned to me and said something about One Eyed Willy and his party friends!! It did make me chuckle, bless his little cottons.

2 days in to the holidays and we’re already on the road to recovery and looking forward to Christmas.

On our way back from watching the sunset on the beach, off the cuff, we drove to Chesham Road, as recommended by one of the delicious Milton Mums. It was magical, like a mini Vegas with each house trying to out do each other with lights and reindeers, snowflakes and icicles and even a whole light up nativity scene. That does it, I told Lee, after Christmas, come the sale, I’m buying me some light up tat and I will not rest until I find a 6 foot inflatable Santa and snowman. He’s not entirely on the same page, but I have a year to convert him and believe the Twinkles will be solidly on my side!

I should go steady on Lee, I can hear him outside building me a wooden recycle box stack fully equipped with room for a herb garden on the top. I’m not sure why people put herbs on top of them, I saw it in Bristol, but I like it, a doff of the cap to being eco friendly!

Love and hugs, kisses and wishes xxx

Ollie and I always have time for a sunset selfie, the other two get bored and walk off xxx
